  • Must have a number in parentheses at the right of the page.
  • Must be numbered in the order they appear.
  • Must be able to be read as part of the text.
  • Must be referred to using a capitalized name (Eqn. 1).
  • Must not include *, **, ^, E, or other "computer language" usage
  • Must have all symbols defined, either in previous text, in text immediately following the equation, or in a table of symbols.

    The Reynolds number, Re, is defined as

    Re = r vL / m                                                                                                      (1)

    Where r is the fluid density, v is the fluid velocity, L is a reference length (usually diameter for pipes), and m is the fluid viscosity.
