Electric Bikes Links

This is a pot-pourree of various links that I found useful when trying to evaluate electric assist bicycles. A quick search on the web will reveal hundreds of links, however many of them come and go. You will find this frustration often during searches on the web - sometimes you find a gem, sometimes a black hole. You have to maintain a skeptical attitude in order to separate the wheat from the chaff and retain sanity.

• Bicycle-Power.com - one of my favourites, a good overview of the worldwide availability of electric powered bikes, batteries, and DIY kits.
• Lightfoot Cycles - an interesting company in Montana close to the Trans-America Bike route. In their own words: "We design and build dynamic, evolving and improving human-powered vehicles. We seek to grow a socially and ecologically responsible organization".
• The Electric Bike Network - "Think Globally, Bike Locally" an interesting Bay Area business that promotes and sells e-bikes
• WildernessEnergy.com, Electric Bike Systems, Largo Scooters all offering hub motor bikes and conversion kits
• Center US - a vast web shopping mall having a section on electric bikes.
• Wikipedia - Motorized Bicycle - as always, the good old Free Encyclopedia
