Call for Abstracts

ORBCRE Symposium 2008

 Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh PA (October 29-31, 2008)

 

The Twenty-fourth Annual Scientific Symposium of the Ohio River Basin Consortium for Research and Education (ORBCRE) will be hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh PA. The theme for the symposium will be Urban Water and Watersheds in the Ohio River BasinSessions for the symposium will cover a wide range of topics including (but not limited to) historical perspectives, water quality and quantity, watershed management and urban water systems, human effects on water quality, stormwater, wastewater and drinking water in the Ohio and its tributaries, education and outreach, citizen monitoring and restoration.

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in fieldtrips, workshops and the conference scientific program.  Abstracts limited to one page should be submitted as an email attachment using MSWord to either Dr. Jeanne VanBriesen or Dr. David Dzombak at water-quest@andrew.cmu.edu .

 

All abstracts should include emails, post addresses, and phone numbers of all authors and indicate the contact person as well as indicating a preference for ORAL or POSTER presentation. Oral presentations will be 15 minutes in length.  Posters will have a dedicated session as well as be available for viewing during all scheduled breaks and meals.

 

The deadline for submitting abstracts is July 15, 2008.  Acceptance notices for submissions will be sent by July 31, 2008.  The initial program and the registration information will be available by July 30, 2008. Membership in ORBCRE is not required for symposium attendance.  For more information, please contact:
