DR1: Conceptual Design Selection

Purpose:

·         Present "business opportunity" (subset of needs statement) and your team's feasible project in that area

·         Present the results of the Conceptual Design Process, incorporating all feedback to date.

·         Show/describe the selected concept (or leading concepts if selection is not complete). Good system-level images of the concepts are important, including users in operating position(s).

1.  Justify the selection (some description of the CD scoring/selection process)

2.  Show analysis (calculations, simulations, mockup tests, precedence, etc.) that demonstrates feasibility wrt all specs and superior effectiveness wrt a diverse set of concepts considered.

·         Include a brief mention of initial project planning focusing on immediate prioritized actions and plans for winter break (make it more detailed if concept selection is not complete).

Good use of visual aids (pictures supported by words)

b. Ability to respond to questions in a professional manner
Repeats the question and asks clarifying questions if necessary
Takes a non-defensive attitude
Provides a correct answer or defers the question to another team member

   Levels:             0 Unacceptable/Insufficient (0)              2 Adequate (~.75-.89)
                           1 Needs Improvement (~.6-.74)             3 Excellent/Meets All Expectations (~.9-1.0)
