Team Expectations
As a team, there should be
· a good overall plan for research,
product benchmarking and patent searching,
o
an indication of how the individual research topic areas fulfill
that plan,
o
and a compilation of individual results into a form
that is appropriate for inclusion in the design report (http://www.ent.ohiou.edu/~me470/SnrDesign06_07/me470/ASME_fulldesignreport_mod.pdf).
· There should also be a thorough
and well documented search for codes, regulations and standards
o
it is expected that at least one team member will
have met with Bob Houdek to make sure that the appropriate
tools have been correctly used in the search.
Individual Expectations
Each individual must
· demonstrate (by describing
the process and showing the results) the use of databases and other search
tools to find a list of applicable resources in one specific topic area related
to the project
o
select at least one resource from the list and
highlight the info in it that is relevant.
· demonstrate the use of patent
search tools to find at least one patent dealing with a product or idea that
seems to address part of all of the needs statement, and highlight the info in
it that is relevant.
