SF6 Circuit Breakers: Similar to air-blast breakers except sulfur hexaflouride is used in place of air.
- SF6 is a better insulator than air and it also quenches arcs better than air.
- SF6 breakers are physically smaller than comparable air-blast breakers (which can be important in urban substations for example).
