Recommended (extra credit) problem

Using a recent annual peak load (for one hour) and an estimate of the capacity available (committed) for that load, estimate TNB’s reserve margin, LOLP and EUE. To keep the calculations (relatively) simple, do them at the station level, i.e.; use station capacities and availabilities (to estimate station FOR’s) -- ignore such complicating issues as partial outages. JUSTIFY any approximations that you make and CITE the sources of your data. Use your results to assess the validity of using reserve margin as an indication of the reliability of TNB’s supply system.
