Herein, only line balancing based on (heuristic) rules-of-thumb (which can provide acceptable solutions) are treated

Some heuristic rules are:

1. Choose the (feasible) task with the largest task time (i.e., longest first)

2. Choose the task with the most successors

3. Choose the task with the greatest sum of the task times of its successor tasks
