Professor Manhire


Biographical Sketch

Brian Manhire received BEE, MS and Ph.D. degrees from The Ohio State University in 1972 and 1980 respectively. While at Ohio State he received an Ohio Electric Utilities Institute Fellowship for graduate studies in electrical engineering. From 1972 to 1976 he was an Electrical Engineer in the Power Research Staff of the Tennessee Valley Authority. In 1976 he joined Ohio University where he is now a Professor of Electrical Engineering.

He has received both the University Professor and Russ teaching awards at Ohio University. He has been an IFESH Visiting Professor at M. L. Sultan Technikon in South Africa as well as both a Visiting Professor and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales in Australia and a faculty member in Ohio University's Corporate MBA Program at Tenaga National Institute of Engineering & Technology in Malaysia.

He was an IEEE Region 10 Distinguished Lecturer in Australia, India, Indonesia, New Zealand and Singapore and has given seminars to the electric power industry of Yugoslavia (JUGEL) and at the University of London. He has been a consultant in Malaysia for the Asian Development Bank and the International Atomic Energy Agency of the United Nations and in Pakistan for the United States Information Agency.
