3.4 Thevenin Circuit Element Rules

KVL applied to the Thevenin circuit with terminals a-b open (so I = 0 A.) yields:

VTh - 0 V. - VOC = 0 V. \

VTh = VOC (Thevenin voltage = Open circuit voltage)
